Services & Pricing

OUR CORE SERVICE
Based in Charlotte, NC, AH Prescribing provides outpatient psychiatric medication management services for children, adolescents and adults for mental health diagnoses including depression, GAD (generalized anxiety disorder), OCD, bipolar disorder, ADHD, conversion disorder, separation anxiety, panic disorder and ASD (autism spectrum disorder).

WHAT IS A PMHNP
AH Prescribing services are provided by a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. PMHNPs are Nurse Practitioners with specialized training in psychiatry and mental health. Working alongside a local psychiatrist, AH Prescribing’s PMHNP can prescribe medications, order and interpret necessary tests and labs, and refer and collaborate with other specialists.

HOLISTIC CARE
It’s important to note that research consistently shows the importance of combining psychiatric medications with psychotherapy and/or counseling for best treatment outcomes. AH Prescribing offers medication management only. We encourage patients to seek out additional psychotherapy or counseling services support.
AH Prescribing is an independent psychiatric practice designed to keep care simple and direct between patient and provider. For this reason, appointments are structured around self-pay rates listed below. In some cases, insurance may be billed through a third-party platform. We areout-of-network with Medicare and Medicaid. Please visit our Library for helpful and informative Fact Sheets on the No Surprises Act and Good Faith Estimates.

SERVICE & FEE-RELATED POLICIES AT-A-GLANCE
- Paperwork: Patient-provider communication is the priority during a psychiatric medication management appointment. AH Prescribing will make all reasonable efforts to complete requested paperwork or forms during scheduled appointments. Paperwork requiring completion outside scheduled appointments will be charged an additional $75/hour, and assessed at the provider’s sole discretion. Disability paperwork cannot be completed unless initiated by AH Prescribing. Letters of accommodation cannot be completed during a new intake appointment.
- Missed appointments & cancellations: Appointments not canceled within 48 hours of the scheduled time (excluding weekends) will be charged the full appointment fee.
- Payment due date: All fees are due at the time of scheduling or day of service (with the exception of paperwork and missed appointment fees, which are due as incurred). As such, we require all patients to keep a credit card on file with AH Prescribing and authorize automatic payments per our fee schedule.
- Pharmacogenetic Testing: AH Prescribing offers GeneSight, psychotropic testing to provide insight on how a patient’s genetic makeup may affect processing of various psychiatric medications. More specifically, pharmacogenetic testing helps shed light on the speed and efficacy of an individual’s medication metabolism. Pharmacogenetic testing does not provide information regarding side effects, allergies or whether a given medication will relieve symptoms. The DNA for testing is collected in a kit mailed to the patient’s home. A simple cheek swab is required. GeneSight generally reports results 3-4 days after its receipt of the sample.
Pharmacogenetic testing is available for current AH Prescribing patients. A dedicated 30-minute follow-up appointment to discuss GeneSight results is required. For more information, including lab pricing and potential insurance coverage, please visit GeneSight.
